Frequently Asked Questions

Our courses are either delivered in a classroom setting, virtually or Blended delivery.

We offer remotely Proctored exams at InspiringWays.

1. A ‘Remotely Proctored’ exam after your course. This is typically used:
a. After a virtual Learning course; and/or
b. When you do not wish to leave your home or need to be somewhere specific for a live exam.

2. We can also provide a Pearson Vue voucher for you to use in person at a Pearson Vue Centre at a time and place of your own choosing – even abroad!

The remote web proctor solution allows you to sit your exams online, using a webcam, microphone and a stable internet connection. You can schedule your exam in advance, at a date and time of your choice. At the agreed time you will connect with a proctor who will invigilate your exam live.

Before you sit the exam

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct technical setup before sitting your exam. Each of these examining bodies provide different guidance for what’s needed, so please check the information under the relevant tab below (What are the technical requirements?). You can then test your system before booking your exam.

On the day of the exam, please ensure:

• You have the required ID available to show the proctor
• Where applicable provide evidence of any required pre-requisites
• You are the only person in the room throughout the exam session
• There is no background noise in the room
• There is adequate light in the room, but no direct light towards the web camera
• Your desk is clean

Availability

Online exams will either be scheduled for you or you will be able to schedule your own exam depending on the exam you are taking. During your exam, you will be connected to a live person who will be there to guide you through the process and assist with any technical issues.

PeopleCert: A preliminary result will be displayed on screen once you have finished your exam. The official results of your test are issued within 2 business days from the date of the exam. If you pass the exam, along with the official results, you will also receive an e-certificate. Both the official results and the e-certificate will be uploaded to your PeopleCert account.

APMG: A provisional score will be displayed on screen once you have finished your exam. Formal confirmation of your result will be emailed to you within two working days.

BCS: A provisional score will be displayed on screen once you have finished your exam. BCS will confirm the result and this will be displayed in the candidate portal within 1 week of the exam being taken. The e-certificate will also be available in the candidate portal.

iSQI: A provisional score will be displayed on screen once you have finished your exam. ISQI will confirm your results in an email.

PeopleCert

PeopleCert offers its own remote online exam proctoring service. It is your responsibility to check you have the system capability to run the exam.
Prior to the exam taking place please ensure you:

• Disable any virtualisation software such as VMware, Virtual PC, VirtualBox or Sandbox during the exam. For exam security reasons, the exam shield cannot run through any virtualization software. You should also close any applications that might affect the exam process, such as web browsers, chat, desktop sharing and mail clients applications.

Ensure that your computer meets the following system requirements:

For Windows

• Windows® 11, Windows® 10 (Windows 10S is not supported), Windows® 8.1, Windows® 8. Note: The Exam Shield Microsoft Store version is only available to Windows 10 version 17763 or later.
• Dual-core 2.4GHz CPU or faster with 2GB of RAM (Minimum requirements).
• Active Full-Time/Broadband internet connection of at least 4Mbps.
• 16-bit monitor (at least 15”) with screen resolution 1024 x 768 or higher.
• Speakers and microphone (the use of headsets is only allowed during onboarding).
• Keyboard and mouse or another pointing device (keyboard set to English characters).
• A single web camera you can rotate (embedded or external – no mobile phone)

For Mac

• macOS Sierra (10.12), macOS High Sierra (10.13), macOS Mojave (10.14), macOS Catalina (10.15) macOS Big Sur (11) or macOS Monterey (12).
• Mac compatible web camera (no mobile phone) and microphone (for Mac Mini and Mac Pro).
• Active Full-Time/Broadband internet connection of at least 4Mbps.
• Keyboard and mouse or any other pointing device (keyboard set to English characters).
• Speakers and microphone (the use of headsets is only allowed during onboarding).

APMG-International

APMG-International offers remote online exam proctoring via ProctorU.

The technical specification is available here on the ProctorU website, along with the ability to test your equipment prior to booking your exam. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the system capability to run the exam.

BCS

BCS offers remote online exam proctoring via Questionmark.

The technical specification is available here on the Questionmark website, along with the ability to test your equipment prior to booking your exam. BCS have also produced a candidate guide to assist examination takers, available here. We recommend you familiarise yourself with this document prior to booking your exam. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the system capability to run the exam.

InspiringWays offers the following payment methods:

Prepaid Skills Cards

Clients have the option to prepay for training purchasing our InspiringWays Skills Card. This can be used to provide training over an 18-month period. It is a really good way of securing the training budget and drawing down the training courses as and when required.

InspiringWays specialises in designing and developing a wide range of digital learning solutions, from short instructional videos to fully interactive e-Learning packages. These materials support staff training, system adoption, and information sharing during new implementations.

Booking Process

All bookings for training events will be recorded by InspiringWays on a training booking system. All details, including the agreed price will be electronically sent to the booker on a booking form. On receipt of a booking form, it is the Customer’s responsibility to check for accuracy, enter a purchase order number on it, check the invoicing address is correct, sign the booking form and email it back to InspiringWays. This booking form is confirmation of the order and also makes the order subject to the cancellation terms and conditions highlighted on the document.

All provisional course bookings must be confirmed within 15 working days of the start date.

Delegates are required to arrive at the course in good time. If the delegate is unable to attend on the day of training due to unforeseen circumstances, we will still have to charge you as we still incur costs.

Course Location & Timings

Joining instructions will be sent to each registered delegate 10 working days prior to the course.

Special Considerations

Please advise us in advance if delegate(s) have any special dietary requirements, any physical disabilities or communication barriers that would impact upon the training course.

We will endeavour to cater for everyone, but we do require notification in advance.

Cancellations

Please note your booking may be subject to a cancellation charge. Cancellations made within 10 working days of the course start date are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. All cancellations must be notified to InspiringWays Training & Consultancy Limited by email. Delegate substitutions are welcome provided that stated course pre-requisites and any additional charges are met.

Notice given by client

11 – 15 working days – 50% of course fee due
10 working days or less – 100% of course fee due
No-attendance without notice – 100% of course fee due

InspiringWays reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course and will advise the customer as soon as reasonably possible once this change is known.

Payments

Please ensure that payment is received within 30 days of the course invoice.

Warranty & Liabilites

The Customer accepts responsibility for verifying that the courses are suitable for the requirements of the delegate attending a particular course and that the delegate has the necessary level of competence to be able to meet the objectives of the course. InspiringWays is not liable to the Customer, either in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise howsoever arising for any direct or indirect loss of profits, business or anticipated savings, nor for any indirect loss or damage or for any destruction of data.

Skills Cards & Pre-payments

All forms of pre-payments are given an expiry date. The expiry date for pre-payments and Skills Cards is 18 months from time of confirmation.
